Self-Defense and Boxers
Jun. 6th, 2005 01:13 pmDear Diary,
Yesterday was rather eventful for a day off. I was taking a small break in Barbados after tracking down (and apprehending!) one of Interpol's leads, and guess who I happened to meet? The English boxer, Dudley! Now normally, I know all about the top fighters, I've met most of them. However, this was a new acquaintance, and one I was most happy to make. Not at ALL like Balrog, I'm glad to say, otherwise I'd be afraid that boxing had gone completely to the dogs in my zone.
He's a very nice man, and he's searching for heirlooms that once belonged to his father. Unfortunately, many of them seem to have been auctioned off. I offered to help, naturally, since I tend to travel Videoland rather extensively. A *Moblin* bought the antique piano. A MOBLIN! Since when were Moblins musically inclined? Never. I can only guess that it was purchased for the sole purpose of dropping it on Link's head. I gave him the directions to get to Hyrule and Death Mountain, and told him to take along one of the residents as a guide since it's no picnic out there.
The thought of Dudley punching out Ganon's lights, however, amuses me to no end.
I taught a basic self-defense class tonight in order to help the palace staff and residents who weren't combat-oriented. I think it went over fairly well! I was very impressed with the knowledge and fortitude of a young girl named Monika Allenford. She's no ordinary Sim, and she seems skilled with something very similar to chi. I never thought it would be me asking for lessons, but there it was. I want to learn how to heal. Not just myself, but others. Being a street fighter sort of demands getting a sound beating now and again, and potions aren't always reliable as they can be lost or stolen or destroyed.
Oh, one last note of interest, Ziggy's back on-line. I admit that I was rather worried about him! I sent a fruit basket, since I wasn't really sure what a cyborg would like.
That's All For Now!
